NOoooo 1-4: four power conference champions 5: highest-ranked Group of Six conference team 6: ND 7-8 Big 10 will get at least 3 because they play no one 9: at least 1 other conference will get a second team in possibly 2 conferences 10-12 or 11-12 will be SEC’s other schools Let’s say UGA/Texas meet in SECCG with 1 or 2 losses each. They both make it. That means you have a 9-3 Tennessee getting in over Alabama, TAM, LSU, Ole Miss. Possible but doubtful. A lot of those teams have to lose 3 and a 9-3 Tennessee has to have head to head over Alabama, TAM and LSU to get in over them. Let’s Face it the CFP is a beauty pageant and has nothing to do with your schedule just losses. $ankey screwed the SEC. Best you accept it and move on or pray for a 2 loss season and even then UT may miss CFP.
