Most coaches complain about the new rules NIL , blah blah transfer portal - forgett... show more “He had to win from Day 1 .“ What you leave out is that it was far easier for him to win from Day 1. He’s didn’t build a program. Even now, he’s put his stamp on it, he hasn’t built it. A lot easier to get players to come to Ohio State than 99% of other colleges based on name and traditions alone; and now NIL resources. I’m not sure he “improved it”, more like kept it going. There is nothing he has done that Urban nor Tressel did prior. In fact he’s behind both in actual expected achievements; less wins vs TTUN, and less Big 10 Championships than both. He’s had it very easy compared to a coach like Cignetti. It’s okay to admit these truths without feeling so insecure about being a Day fan. it’s not a debatable issue. Harbaugh’s statement is true, he was born on 3rd base. He meant it as an insult, which is being a dick. But it is true. Day was gifted a job he truly didn’t earn. He should embrace it, who wouldn’t take a 10-15 year advance in their career; both in stature and in pay? I would, and I assume you would as well. And the fact that you think Florida was in the same shape when Urban left vs when he left Ohio State, is you just being a Day fanboy and not based in reality. Florida was 8-5 in Urban’s last year, Ohio State was 12-1, just a little different. And Florida has never been the same since he left. Again, it’s so odd that you feel so insecure regarding Day that you constantly feel the need to deflect his shortcomings to shat on the previous coach. Again, you clearly weren’t a fan of this program prior to Day, it’s very evident at this point. If you were, you know we never felt the need to deflect Urban’s losses by shatting on Tressel’s achievements. Day doesn’t need you to defend him, in fact, he doesn’t even know you exist.
