There was little that could be done at the time to change momentum. I just think now theres a totally different side of the media, and the public thats different between now and then. I think the biggest issue is in narratives like this they can get away from you and certain things get misconstrued and never corrected. I guarantee you ask the average "outraged" person, even media people. Theyd get all kinds of things wrong. Most people think JS was still on staff. That MM clearly saw sex and told JVP as much. JVP and JS were close friends and then he Schultz and Curley decided they needed to cover this up because they had football games to win. In a long form discussion lots of details can be hashed out where all of a sudden with essentially none of that being true, the active cover up narrative becomes kind of silly. And in todays environment these long form programs reach as many, if not more people than mainstream media.
