Note: A grade of 85 or higher is an NFL-caliber rating, while a grade between 84-79 is considered "very good." Anything from 78-68 is considered "above average." 60 is considered "average" as that is where each player's grade begins and then goes up or down from there. Below average grades range from 50-59, and anything below 50 is considered "poor." FINAL: Wake Forest 38, Purdue 36 (2OT) Purdue defensive grades and snap counts...    Quick notes on defense.. - Much like th offense, the defensive grades look a lot different this week. No overall grades in the 80's or 70's this week. John Slaughter came in as the highest graded Boiler on defense at 69.9, followed closely by Smiley Bradford at 69.4. Bradford replaced an injured Mister Clark in the lineup, finishing with five tackles and a quarterback hit. Slaughter had nine tackles.  - After being the highest-graded Purdue player last week, cornerback Don Saunders was the lowest graded defensive player with significant snaps at 46.6. He was mostly dinged for allowing four catches on five passes target in his direction that totaled 74 yards. He also had a penalty and a missed tackle.  - Among the edge rushers, Jeremy Lewis got the most snaps with 36, but was significantly less effective from a grading standpoint than last week at just 56.4. Against Indiana State, Lewis graded an 84.2. The step up in competition showed.  - Speaking of edge rushers, Breeon Ishmail was the highest-graded among the group at 65.5 while logging 18 snaps.  - Aside from Lewis, it seems the Boilers are still trying to figure out a good mix at edge. The snap count for the rest broke down as follows: Trey Smith with 26, Elo Modozie with 7, and CJ Madden with 10.  - Linebacker Charles Correa, Purdue's leading tackler on Saturday, significantly improved his tackling grade with a 65.3. Last week, he received a 26.4 in that category against Indiana State. Correa finished with 12 tackles and was the fifth-highest graded defender overall at 66.7.  - Defensive lineman TJ Lindsey returned to action against the Demon Deacons. He suffered a significant injury in Game 3 last season. He logged 22 snaps while grading a 58.5 on Saturday.
