You can hire an outsider to be head coach, but at Arkansas, we really need someone who understands the program, state, and fanbase as the AD. Jeff Long didn't understand any of this, and frankly, neither does Yurachek. You can't sy stupid things where you blame the fanbase for a lack of excitement. Yurachek wants the fans to create an atmosphere by striping out the stadium. There won't be enough fans in the stands to make stripes, Hunter. He admitted that he did not set Pittman up for success. He admitted to not doing his job. He should have been fired immediately upon returning to Fayetteville. We need someone who: Understands where football scheduling needs to be while we search for wins. Can raise NIL funds from across the state. Understands the importance of residual fundraising. Will travel to small towns all over the state, talk about the proud history of the program, and convey his vision for the program. Real grassroots work. Knows that for our next coach, we will have to overpay for a proven one. We should never be outbid for a coach by Missouri, Ole Miss, or West Virginia for that matter. It's a short list, and we don't need an outside firm to find the guy.
