(original post) Ok, I guess I’d be interested to know which teams play replays and those that don’t, and why? show more “All 13 universities in the Mid-American Conference (MAC) possess the hardware capability to show video and replays on their in-stadium jumbotrons. However, how they operate replays on game day is heavily influenced by home-field advantage and conference rules:The Production Setup: At almost all MAC schools—such as the University of Toledo (Glass Bowl), Central Michigan University (Kelly/Shorts Stadium), and Western Michigan University (Waldo Stadium)—the video boards are operated by in-house media departments or live sports production students. They use dedicated control rooms to cut live video feeds and push instant replays directly to the stadium screens. The "Home Team Bias" Rule: Like most college football conferences, the MAC does not strictly require venues to show neutral, multi-angle replays of every single play for the fans. You will routinely see schools show spectacular replays of home team highlights, while intentionally omitting or minimizing replays of controversial penalties or big plays made by the visiting team to avoid fueling the crowd's frustration or giving the opposing coach an advantage.“
