Week 3 Preview (includes CLEMSON) -- David Hale
Summary
Pick/market: When you evaluate how we got here from where we were, there are things you have to take into account.
When you evaluate how we got here from where we were, there are things you have to take into account. It’s a lot of things, really, but they all sort of fall under the umbrella of “the world went cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs and never came back.” But it’s been a long time since then. The only thing you have to blame now is your failure to adapt. And it’s not even one thing - the game has changed in so many ways since you last won anything of consequence and for years you wouldn’t budge on ANY of them. And now you’re evolving. I guess. You evolve begrudgingly, like a dad being forced by his kids into a very cold pool. But even then, you find occasion to yell at clouds. “Christopher Vizzina can do everything we need him to,” you shout at a random cumulonimbus. But even if you are changing, the damage is done. The cupboard isn’t dry but it ain’t like we just went to Costco either. If you don’t find a way to do more with less and soon will you even be around to get us back the old fashioned way? I mean, you could go all in on the portal and revamp the lineup in a year but…..hahahahahahaha yeah I don’t know what I was thinking either. It’s a shame too because we had a good thing. When we were on top I remember thinking about all the dynasties that eventually crumbled from the inside due to ego or stubbornness and thought that’ll never happen to us - not with coaches like these. And damned if it wasn’t exactly that got us in the end. Oh well. We’ll always have Tampa and 44-16.
