Clark Lea and Watergate

The phrase “our long national nightmare is over” comes from Gerald Ford after Nixon resigned due to watergate. He was overwhelmingly favored to win reelection, making the whole scandal rather unnecessary. We’ve been using this to describe the qb situation, so I thought I’d pose a question. Say it came out that some of Clark Lea’s assistant coaches snuck into Charleston Southern’s football facility last year. They were looking through playbooks and getting any information they could. They then told Clark Lea, who, instead of firing them and reporting it, decided that he would just turn a blind eye and told them to never do it again. Do we think he would have been fired? As vandy fans, would we have pushed for his resignation?
