5 Eagles We Could See Emerge Against Maine

While Boston College will need to focus on securing a win against Maine this Saturday, it's not surprising that with an FCS opponent, things can get out of hand quickly. That being known, here are five younger players we could see emerge and make some noise for BC in a late game situation.
Griffin Collins - LB
The sophomore linebacker only saw one snap against Rutgers, his first of the season at the linebacker spot. Griffin actually played some legitimate snaps last year as a freshman reserve backer, playing in eight games and totalling 15 combined tackles, highlighted by a six-tackle outing against Georgia Tech in week 2 of last year. While Collins might not be a viable starting option for BC this season, he is still talented enough where we could see a legitimate starting role from him in the future, most likely next year. The Maine game could give him some solid opportunities for playing time.
Njita Sinkala - DB
Sinkala was one of the fall camp standouts that I believed just getting a look at him, could've gotten a fair amount of snaps this year. He matched up well against some of BC's top weapons in the passing game, and didn't seem overwhelmed by the moment. He also found consistent success in one-on-one receiver versus defensive back drills, which is tough to do considering that receivers usually have a massive advantage in these drills. That being said, he's not polished enough yet to get a legitimate role, and Saturday could provide him with some good opportunities to get some reps.
DJ Johnson - TE
Johnson was another camp standout that really impressed me in the passing game throughout fall sessions. He exhibited great hands and the ability to find space in the open field. His fall practice slate was highlighted by plays he made during one of the scrimmage sessions, where he made a really athletic catch along the sideline to go with a solid red zone touchdown. His speed is great for that tight end spot, and while his blocking needs some work, getting reps in the Maine matchup will give us a good understanding on what he can truly go in a game like situation.
Andy Quinn - P
While I don't think Boston College will be punting a lot versus Maine, if BC chooses to stick with Bryce LaFollette as their starter, we could see Quinn come in late just to see what he's got. BC is in a rare position where they have two viable punting options, and with the way that LaFollette has been playing lately, Quinn could really show out.
Grayson Wilson - QB
Mason McKenzie has firmly solidified himself as the starting quarterback for Boston College this year. That being said, Wilson has had moments throughout spring and summer camp, as is only a redshirt freshman. Grayson will most likely get a big chunk of plays in the fourth quarter at the least, and as more of a pocket passer, can show what he can do in a pro-style offense against an inferior opponent.
