Jay Johnson has been coaching QBs for 20+ years, longer than Dante has been alive. We brought him in this year to be under Koa specifically because Koa is so inexperienced we wanted a helping hand under him. I remember the discussion about it on here during the off-season. No clue if Jay Johnson is any good at being a QB coach, but it just seems kind of backwards to me to hire a total noob for the job and then try to shore that up with a gray haired guy to support him. Personally, I'd make it the other way around.
