If football gets privatized I can promise you that the only “allocation” being made to UNC will be a profit distribution FROM football. You can also rest assured that football related revenue for licensing, advertisers and such will start on the ledger with football and not UNC. I would assume the university will sign a renewable lease on Kenan and be responsible for all upkeep whereas improvements will be made at the expense of the tenant…unless UNC wants to cover that and increase lease payments to service the added investment by the school. That completely isolates the blood letting on the income statement to UNC side. Football under the current cost structure vs revenue will be massively profitable…which it already is.
