“Without the participation agreement, the settlement means nothing.”
Summary
College Sports Commission participation agreement unsigned; SEC/Big Ten oppose, ACC divided, big schools resist relinquishing rights.
Well, guess what? That big ol' threat that the backers of the College Sports Commission fired off, that schools *had* to sign an agreement that gave away some rights -- it hasn't been signed, not even close. Ross Dellenger has the story. The SEC is not on board. Neither is the Big Ten. The Big 12 supposedly is, but the ACC is divided -- state schools in favor, private schools opposed. It's almost like the big-money schools like to free-wheel and are loath to give it up. Good story, worth your time.
