BarkBoard and Friends Predictions: Fresno State at San Jose State
Summary
Pick/market: The Fresno State Bulldogs bounced back in Week 2 and now they aim to get momentum rolling into a September rivalry meeting.
The Fresno State Bulldogs bounced back in Week 2 and now they aim to get momentum rolling into a September rivalry meeting. The 'Dogs play at the San Jose State Spartans on Saturday. Will the Bulldogs keep the Valley Trophy? BarkBoard.com and local media partners make their predictions for how they expect the game to play out.  Fresno State and San Jose State meet as non-conference members this season, as the Bulldogs left for the Pac-12 and the Spartans stayed in the Mountain West. The Spartans are 2-1, securing narrow wins over Eastern Michigan and Cal Poly while falling 42-26 at USC in Week 0.  Fresno State defeated SJSU 41-14 in the regular-season finale last year, but that SJSU team finished at 3-9. The Spartans have since added Hawaii transfer quarterback Luke Weaver to lead the offense. SJSU's reserve quarterbacks threw five interceptions to the Bulldogs' defense last November.  The oddsmakers have Fresno State as a 6.5-point favorite heading into the game. Saturday's contest will kick off at 8:00 p.m. PT with a national television broadcast on FS1. BarkBoard.com's Jackson Moore is joined by local media partners that each give their take on this week's matchup. On the panel are: Scott Bemis (Sports Anchor for KSEE24 & CBS47, Host of Bulldog Insider), Phil Benotti (Host of Behind the Bench on 1430 ESPN Fresno) and Lucio Ourique (Host of the Red Wave Report Podcast).
