Mater Dei is rolling with a 3 QB rotation since the beginning of the season. They have a freshman QB who brings the energy when he is on the field but never gets into rhythm like the rest of the offense. The freshman’s last name is Guess. The kid is a baller and the best of the 3. Lara is far from his prime. He is calling the plays himself and they are horrible. He makes the QB run back to the sideline after every play for the next play. MD is playing slow on offense. The defense has saved them from what should be a 2-3 season right now. There are lots of calls for Lara to be fired from us alum and boosters. MD needs to clean house and start a rebuild. It won’t take long if they get a good coaching staff in place again. Lots of talent but lack discipline again this year. I think it was 13 or 14 penalties against MD last night, which has been a problem all year. If they would let Peyton Guess start as QB1 and keep him in the game, he would continue to develop quickly. I have never seen a 3 QB rotation before and even most 2 QB rotations suck too. Guess is the future of the program if Lara doesn’t blow it up again!!! Many financial supporters like myself have held back our checks until Lara is fired. It is bad for the kids because the coaching is so bad. We were lucky to score 8 points and we were shutout until late in the 4th quarter.
