The Hokies entered the week as a minimal favorite, with opening betting lines around Virginia Tech -1.5 at the open. The line has shifted throughout the week with the Hokies considered by most sportsbooks to be a three-point favorite. Bill Connelly's SP+ also has Virginia Tech as the narrow projected winner with a projected final score of 26-25 and a winning probability of 54%. Over on AthlonSports, all three experts predicted Virginia Tech would be victorious on Saturday night at Maryland. Recently, Rece Davis made his prediction on the College GameDay Podcast, picking the Hokies to win a close game over the Terrapins.
