Wayshawn Parker says Utah's coordinator discussed expanding his receiving role before the 2026 season and is now following through. The interview contrasts that involvement with his primarily rushing role last year; it supports a planned passing-game role, not a guaranteed target or touch count.

Parker says the opening deep pass from Byrd was rehearsed in practice and that he had told the passer he would come down with the ball. The play reflects a practiced way to involve Parker downfield, not evidence of an improvised assignment or a quarterback change.

After Utah's Arkansas win, Parker praised the offensive line and singled out Cedric Jefferson for handling his matchup. This is the running back's assessment of the blocking, not a reported pressure count or an independent line grade.

Parker had three touchdowns in each of Utah's first two games of 2026. The interview identifies both rushing and receiving touchdowns in that early production, consistent with his described involvement in both parts of the offense.
