Went to the Mercer game with 3 of my former room mates, one of whom drove up from Hilton Head. Had a nice tailgate and got to the game just before kickoff. We parked at Peters Park. There was a bit of amusement when someone drove an SUV with some sort of roof attachment that was too tall for the lower level supports. The solution was to move the SUV to the side a couple of feet so it wasn't under a support, then remove the attachment. Sigh, they couldn't figure that out until I walked over and mentioned it to them. Obvious rode the M-Train. We had good seats that were actually only two rows above my former season tickets. They had the new seat attachments. Good lord almighty, that was the most uncomfortable I've been in a long time. I could not fit my legs in the space allocated. My solution was to fold one leg under the seat and stick the other leg into the aisle. I am now very glad I did not get season tickets. My yoga days of bending myself like a pretzel are long past me. The game was fun. It was hot as all get out, but I had my flop hat and sun shirt. I looked like an absolute dork, but the heat didn't really bother me all that much. I will say that unlike the rest of the group, I skipped the beer and stuck to water so I stayed hydrated. They may have sold 50,000, but I would have put the crowd at about 2/3rd with very few Mercer fans. I haven't watched the video yet, but live, it looked like it took GT about a quarter to get cranking and make adjustments. The Mercer QB was absolutely crushed a couple of times. No idea who played what positions. I could read the numbers, but I have no idea what numbers match what players this year. The announcing was a bit sporadic. Not sure if they switched punters, but the punting looked much better. The extra points looked a bit low, with one blocked and returned for 2 points. The kickoff returns were great. Not sure how many yard rushing GT had, but they looked pretty good to my eye. Passing looked pretty good as well.
