Florida reveals final injury designations for Singleton, Oyebadejo vs. Auburn
Summary
Injury: The Gators have listed starting wide receiver Eric Singleton Jr.
The Gators have listed starting wide receiver Eric Singleton Jr. and defensive end Emmanuel Oyebadejo as game-time decisions for Florida's Week 3, SEC-opening matchup with the Auburn Tigers Saturday night, according to UF's final availability report before the contest. Both players are expected to participate in Florida's pre-game warmups in an attempt to play.
Florida also removed starting kicker Patrick Durkin from its availability report before kickoff; Durkin was added to the list with a probable designation on Thursday.
Singleton and Oyebadejo were each listed as questionable for the game on Florida's Friday availability report, as both players nurse ankle injuries from the Gators' Week 1 victory over Florida Atlantic.
Neither player took the field in Week 2 against Campbell, and both were seen wearing boots on the sideline. Gators head coach Jon Sumrall revealed Monday that both players were boot-less and "very, very, very limited" during Florida's Monday practice.
"We'll know through the week. I'm not BS-ing you. I think I told you earlier last week. I thought they were very doubtful. This week, I'd say they're questionable. Is there a shot? Yes. Am I ready to say they're going to play? No, because I can't promise you that.
"But I'm not going to rush either one of them back and them not be right because it's a long season. Do we want them both to be back? Yeah. But at the same time, we got to be smart tough, not dumb tough. And if they're not available, if they're not ready to play the right way for themselves, it's going to hurt the team. And then also, what I don't want to do is put them back in the fray and do something that sets them back further. We'll see as the week goes. I think we'll have a better idea Wednesday, Thursday, but we'll see."
Sumrall called the pair of senior offseason transfer acquisitions "highly questionable" and "definitely not probable" to play against Campbell last Monday, in what was his only media availability before the game.
Singleton, one of Florida's starting wide receivers, did not record a target in Week 1. Oyebadejo posted two tackles and a pass breakup against Florida Atlantic, and led the Gators with four quarterback pressures in that contest.
Singleton notably transferred to Florida from Auburn this offseason, after catching 58 passes for 534 yards and three touchdowns in his lone season with the Tigers in 2025.
Durkin, one of only two former Tulane players who followed Sumrall to Florida via the NCAA transfer portal this offseason alongside punter Alec Clark, has connected on each of his field goal attempts, including a 53-yarder, and is 15-of-15 on extra-point tries in his first season with UF.
Auburn ruled three players out on its game-day availability report before facing Florida: offensive lineman Tai Buster, tight end Hunter Herring and edge rusher Joe Phillips.
