Its bananas when it comes to offseason coaches evaluation of portal needs. I get you dont go to a bidding war but to spend the money we do on guys that rarely contribute in meaningful games is getting very frustrating. Oh we dont need another edge, staff is confident on Shelby, Kameryn etc.. Oh we dont need another safety, we are good with Pierce, Brown etc.. Oh we dont need any quality DBs, we have an unproven Chasen, Kennedy, Alex, Madden, Sermons and bunch of stud Freshmen with high ceiling. Oh and we defenitely dont need any starter type LBs because we have Tamere Robinson and Devean Bryant Oh and by the way true freshmen Mosley and KDW are going to be our WR1 and WR2 and they are going to carry us to the playoffs. We dont need any vets. Lets get players from portal who wont contribute. If the time is now and the window is now, they certainly didnt act like it when evaluating the personnel needs. They were dropping 8 and cant stop the slant all day. This was painful than watching the Illinoi game last year. Our DBs dont have the speed to cover the guys and this should have been crystal clear during the offseason and should have been a point of emphasis. You cant put a bandaid on by sitting them 30 yards deep so they wont be exposed but let the team drive down with easy intermediate passes while you rush 3. All these were glarring in the offseason but the staff was somehow confident?
