Last week I was banned for being critical of sipple’s reluctance to acknowledge the colandrea difference. I was critical of him not admitting raila was very mid and this team has been dominant against less talented opponents. I was banned. No bad words. Just critical of him being sympathetic to Raiola and critical to Colandrea, who has been incredible in every aspect of qb play. With that, I have to acknowledge his assessment this week. He was hesitant all week, acknowledging ND’s offense and ND being better than other teams we played. However his column today was respectful of the team THIS YEAR and he rightfully acknowledged this is a different Nebraska from previous seasons. We as fans tend to look at teams through the lens of other years (good or bad) but we should all acknowledge this is a talented team that is far better than any team we have seen in a decade. However, conference play is the real test. Lots to be excited about yet there is a long season ahead. There hasn’t been a team more prepared for conference play than the team we are watching. Say what you want about competition, this defensive line has been dominant. Nobody has ran the ball at us. Step in the right direction. Competition increases weekly going forward but right here, right now, this defense and oline are as good as we all have seen in a long time.
