The "U" Looks Mortal

Despite the new CFL landscape of transfers and NIL...there seems to be a common theme each season that certain teams jump out as being almost unbeatable. Sometimes it's true, but more often it becomes a reality that despite what's on paper (or Vegas) these teams have weaknesses exposed or reveal their own issues.
Hence the Miami Hurricanes. If you watched the 2nd half tonight, it's obvious this is not a new NFL franchise in the making. They were a few plays away from true anxiety against a mediocre ACC opponent.
At this point in the season with few marquee games so far...it's hard to truly gauge contenders from pretenders. It's unlikely, but we can't rule Oregon out just yet. My point being that all the bed wetting about ND's running game and O-line is premature. I'm sure many Canes fans thought they'd roll into SB undefeated. Still a likely scenario, but definitely not a lock. Same goes for ND. However, if ND gets the latest version of Miami...I feel very good about our chances. Then again, back to my original point of "if". This is what makes CFB the best sport IMO. Every week seems to result in a major change of perspective. Bottom line...Miami won tonight but definitely showed vulnerability. They showed vulnerability last year and came within a play (or two) of winning the natty.
Onto the Irish... How will they respond against comparable mid-level power 4 opponent? It could be ugly (or not). But then again, it's just 1 game. It's a marathon, not a sprint. BUT my early take is there's no truly dominant team. All I want for ND is continued improvement and no (or limited) injuries. If that happens... we'll be playing in January! Go Irish!
