Quick Takes: Ohio State shows no ill effects from loss in rout of Kent State
Summary
Pick/market: "OSU's success in the red zone, short yardage and on fourth down was all spotty." Yes, Steve, and it was a problem all last year, too.
"OSU's success in the red zone, short yardage and on fourth down was all spotty." Yes, Steve, and it was a problem all last year, too. Our offense always looks great when it's 1st and 10 and we've got 70 yards ahead of us, LOL. Going 1-8 on 3rd down against Kent State, with our sole coversion coming via the 3rd stringers as time expired, is pitiful. With our talent advantage, Day and the offensive staff ought to have several plays that are basically good for 4-5 yards whenever we need it. We have none. Defense was great. Would like Pettijohn to be a starter at this point for sure.
