Had it worked it might have been a good play design and I’ll take success of whatever kind without complaint… but I completely disagree with rolling out your backup hired gun on the first play when you have a dude who has been in your program, busted *** to rehab early and be available, playing really well, etc. We’ve heard how great we’re going to be all offseason. All the yapping. We’re gonna be throwing when we’re up 40. Most hated team in the country. DL might not be as talented but much deeper. OL has 2 draft picks. On and on. And we’re starting the game with some gimmicky bull ****. If you’re as good as you pretend to be all offseason Just line it up, run your offense and beat the other guy straight up. Maybe work on getting the OL to block correctly and well before installing gimmicks for the backup QB who is clearly worse than the younger starter. This team didn’t know who it was coming in and that’s a coaching issue. Hopefully Will put that all to rest but I wouldn’t be shocked to see unnecessary nonsense in the future. and what won is the game? Not some gimmick. It was our dudes pulling their head out of their collective asses, lining up and beating the guys on the other side of the ball.
