The Fresno State Bulldogs defeated the San Jose State Spartans 26-10 on Saturday. Head coach Matt Entz addressed the performance with traveling local media after the game.  The Bulldogs' win included four interceptions and five sacks by the defense, plus four made field goals by kicker Manaki Watanabe. While the offense often sputtered, quarterback Jayden Mandal finished with 15-of-29 completions for 286 yards plus 46 rushing yards. The offense finished with 354 yards despite starting left tackle Brayden Walton leaving with injury.  Fresno State head coach Matt Entz said in an opening statement, "Probably not how I anticipated it going. I'm sure many people here probably thought the same. Actually I take that back, I think you guys probably thought they were gonna score a bunch of points based on your questions on Monday. So really good job by our defense. We had (enough interceptions) to help us win.  "There's some things we have to address. The administrative and discipline penalties we gotta clean up. Some of the other one are just subjective and we can argue about them, but they are what they are. I thought we had good field position defensively, we had some first downs and then we sputtered out. There was a third down we couldn't get.  "We finally get some third downs in the second half and that's why we ended up putting 26 points on the board. Shoulda, coulda, woulda - we have to be better on third down and we got to be in shorter third-down situations." Continue for more quotes from Coach Entz following the rivalry victory.
