Dave Doeren on NC State's last-second loss at Vanderbilt: 'The plan was to take a safety'
Summary
QB/DB: There were several big plays that would have ended this game.
There were several big plays that would have ended this game. The 4th and 5 that Vandy got was huge. We had people in place to make the tackle and they didn’t. The dropped ball that Ovies is talking about on a play to a walk on receiver. He had both hands on the ball and the defensive back knocked it out. Thayer Thomas says hello though on putting down walk on players. The nail in the coffin should have been the interception by the freshman QB. I did lol on the CJB short circuiting comment, bc that is the perfect way to describe the brain fart that is that last play that lost the game. I’ve been very critical of the coaches at times, especially after the way we looked at UVA, but this was on the players and especially CJB.
