(original post) It is time to make a decision in Dave doeren as coach , we a coach who wants to win not afraid to lose, kick the field goal not go for it fourth ... show more To me the easiest way to sum up DD's tenure isn't the botched safety, it's the decision to go for it on 4th down, on your own f'ing 14 yd line, in the first half, up 17-0. Forget all his big talk and inability to deliver, all the times we've shart the bed on national TV in a hyped game that could have changed the future trajectory of the program, all the times he's thrown his players under the bus and refused to take any responsibility whatsoever for a loss, and all the other failures and disappointments over the years, take it all and chuck it out the window and just remember this one thing: If a coach has such limited faith in his abilities as an in-game tactician, and the team he's prepared and put out on the field, that he could be so desperate as to believe that not getting a first down on his own 14yd line up 17-0 with two minutes to go in the first half is going to cost him the ballgame, than he has no business coaching major college football. End of story.
