Back in the day, traffic getting into the Rose Bowl was so backed up on the freeway that the student rooter buses were at a standstill. Students can "hold it" just so long, so the bus driver, already being in the right hand lane, would stop, open the bus doors, and the students (mostly men) would rush out to relieve themselves in the bushes, and then pile back into the bus which had moved maybe 20 feet. They eventually got to the game before kickoff.
