Ep. 385 Q&A
Summary
QB/LB: Hey boys, my life depends on this message being read in entirety.
Hey boys, my life depends on this message being read in entirety.
Going into Saturday’s drug trip of a game, Vandy was experiencing the weird mojo of the negatives of the sacrilegious QB situation and the joys of finally naming our future as the starter. I, too, was experiencing this peculiar feeling. The Dores’ mission was to tame the Wolfpack at 11, and mine was to get my 34 ACT to a 36 three hours earlier.
I entered the stomping grounds of Glenn Seabrooks: Davidson Academy, my testing site, where stadium pulse was already too high. But it turned out to be similar to the college football classic I would attend after. It started rough; Vandy was getting lit up by a fraud in CJ Bailey, and I was getting tripped up by layup questions. Both our paces were completely off.
But like Vandy, things began to turn around. I began to reach flow state on the answer bubble sheet akin to Jared Curtis and Junior Sherrill’s chemistry, and victory was in our grasp
Vandy was driving to either win or tie, but made a boneheaded mistake and lost the game. I did very similarly. As I submitted my test, my proctor saw my, frankly sexy, Vandy gear and asked if I was a fan. I replied, “Yes,” and then asked, “Do you like Nick Rinaldi?” As she began her response, I exclaimed, “Nick Rinaldeez nuts in your mouth!” She looked at me in utter dismay, a look I’d only give to Blaze Berlowitz truthers.
She held the fate of my scores, and like Vandy, I had choked.
But suddenly, NC State had fumbled the game away and given Vanderbilt one of college football’s most improbable wins. The Dores had defied all odds.
This taught me a key lesson. The game was never over, and the 36 on the ACT is still at play. If you want it as badly as Miles Capers, anything is possible.
Until 0:00, the loss is never official. Last time I checked, everyone reading this still has time left in regulation (on top of the secret clock we can’t see). It’s never over boys, go secure that dub!
So my question is this: When will we make “Do you Like Nick Rinaldi” the new “Do you like Imagine Dragons?”
