What went wrong and what's fixable
Summary
QB: We thought we could win with line dominance on both sides and, like many coaches, didn't want to put too much on film for conference play.
We thought we could win with line dominance on both sides and, like many coaches, didn't want to put too much on film for conference play. WVU's tempo exposed Rud's preference to sub a bit too much. That coupled with their running QB had our starting safeties out of position. Beau has not only a poor feel for the pocket, he's like a college version of the NFL Justin Fields; he doesn't pull the trigger on throws when guys are open, that hesitancy coupled with no feel for the pass rush is going to be a problem unless we accept he needs 15+ designed runs per game and live with the consequences. Middlebrook doesn't seem to have "take-it-to-the-house" ability. Jamari had that ability behind a lesser line. I believe Pribula was mildly concussed on our first scoring drive.
