GBK 1:1 Interviews: Samari Howard, Teddy Williams and Godspower Nwawuihe Dissect the Black Knights' Offense After Second Scrimmage
- Army's second scrimmage showed an offense with a sound foundation but inconsistent execution, with coaches emphasizing fundamentals, finishing blocks and maintaining effort through the end of plays before the opener.
- Senior slotback Samari Howard is taking a larger leadership role and adds schematic versatility after completing a halfback pass to Brady Anderson, while Trey Benson and David Clark ran effectively and Brady Mont and Aiden Self stood out as blockers.
- Army returns four starters and starts five seniors on the offensive line, allowing the group to move beyond learning the playbook toward adjusting calls and blocking angles during plays to improve running lanes.
- Senior OT Teddy Williams has become more comfortable in pass protection and recognizing stunts after converting from tight end last season, improving the stability of an experienced front.
- Sophomore RB Godspower Nwawuihe has progressed at a demanding option-offense position but is still developing his reads, ball security, footwork and decisiveness.
