- At Baylor's September 21, 2026 availability, Dave Aranda said DJ had improved and looked ready after being held out because he could not adequately protect himself with pocket movement. Monday practice had not yet occurred, so this was Aranda's readiness assessment rather than a proven full workload. Quarterback running and scrambling remain part of the intended offense.
- Aranda said Porter had the green light for Baylor's Colorado week and Devin Turner and Logan Moore were returning. Turner's return would allow more movement and matchup options, with Aranda expecting to feature Micah more after his defensive and special-teams work. The coach did not specify a new starting order or snap allocation.
- Aranda said Baylor's run blockers could move defenders against base looks but struggled to identify and handle slants, stunts and twists. Correct identification and coordinated pickups are the immediate corrections; one-on-one movement alone has not produced a dependable run game.

- Baylor must improve coordinated rush lanes against mobile quarterbacks, Aranda said. He accepted a seven-yard gain on third-and-15 against Cover 2 because it still forced a punt, but said other escapes occurred when one rusher stopped working with the four-man unit. Keeping all four rushers coordinated is a current correction priority.
