Boise State 2026 season preview - top players, storylines and more
- Boise State returns third-year starting quarterback Maddux Madsen healthy after injuries and an inexperienced receiving corps contributed to his regression last season.
- The Broncos expect their run game to remain an offensive strength behind Sire Gaines, Dylan Riley and an offensive line that performed well during fall camp.
- Boise State must replace nearly all of its leading receivers, but JUCO transfer Akeem Wright added 30 pounds and emerged as a fall-camp breakout candidate for a major role.
- The defensive front projects as a strength behind Jayden Virgin-Morgan, Max Stege and Mikaio Edward, while poor tackling, interior depth and a secondary replacing five contributors remain concerns.
- Boise State's model-based outlook centers on 9-3 and roughly a 15% playoff chance because its first Pac-12 schedule is unusually demanding and the passing game's ceiling remains uncertain.

- RB/DB: It's just come to my attention that former Boise State RB Seth Knothe is now listed on LSU's roster for the 2026 season.
