- Indiana QB impact on dynasty: Fernando Mendoza was the critical difference between year two struggles (Curtis Rourke era) and 2024 national title run; only elite NFL QB1 prospects could replicate Indiana's dominance if subbed in (short list: Josh Heupel, Leinart, Vince Young, Cam, McCarron, Jameis, Deshaun, Tua, Trevor, Burrow, Mac Jones, Bryce Young). - Indiana ceiling without elite QB: With average-quality QBs replacing Mendoza, Indiana likely floors at 9–3 record despite destroying most opponents; Mendoza's mistake-free in-pocket management was the engine, not depth of talent. - Indiana Football: Fernando Mendoza (No. 1 NFL draft pick candidate) was difference-maker in 2024 national title run; best QB in every game Indiana played. Will Josh Hoover match that standard in 2025? If not, Indiana's ceiling drops significantly despite strong roster. Projected to miss CFP if Mendoza-level QB production unavailable.

- Indiana spring game timing conflict: Indiana is hosting its spring game Thursday night at the exact same time the NFL Draft begins (7:00–7:20 ET), creating a scheduling nightmare for fans who want to watch Fernando Mendoza get drafted and see Josh Hoover lead the Crimson in the spring game simultaneously. - Indiana defensive line losses: Indiana loses four or five key defensive starters to the draft, forcing young players like Mario Landino into expanded roles as starters; Landino was a supplemental contributor last year and will be "the guy" this spring. - Indiana offensive line transition: The Hoosiers lose several O-line pieces and are bringing in a transfer at right guard; the lines of scrimmage will be critical to monitor to see if they can match last year's dominance. - Nick Marsh as a sleeper receiver: Marsh, who played well at Michigan State despite poor QB play, could be a star-level talent in the college football landscape this year on Indiana's offense; he may be better than receivers they had last year, including Omar Cooper and Elijah Spencer. - Indiana running back committee approach: Indiana will continue a committee approach at RB with Turbo Richard (transfer), Kobe Martin, and BB Richard all getting snaps; the foundation of Cignetti's approach is physical, run-game-oriented football designed to wear opponents down over four quarters.
