- DB: That safety was coming in hot, he had to rocket it in and it’s not like he had to extend his arms all way out behind him.

- Pick/market: AMES – Iowa State's offense scored just one touchdown in a road loss on Saturday at rival Iowa, but the Cyclones were able to reach scoring position multiple other times in their 16-13 loss...

- Coaching: Re the WRs: They really like all three of those freshmen pass catchers at WR.

- Jimmy Rogers said Iowa State's Evan Boyd is out for the season. Drew Surges missed Tuesday practice and needed reassessment; Beni Ngoyi was limited by his ankle. Other players with ankle issues were back practicing. The comments do not establish game-day clearance for Surges or Ngoyi. - Iowa State's explosive-play misses included overthrows, drops and missed blocks. Rogers still backs Jaylen Raynor and said Iowa's fast-triggering linebackers discouraged moving the pocket in that game. He is considering simpler roles for speedy young receivers to create opportunities, not announcing a quarterback change or a completed offensive fix. - Rogers defended Iowa State's frequent defensive-line rotation as a freshness and depth-development strategy. He attributed late problems against Iowa to missed tackles, calls he wanted back and the opponent's execution, rather than declaring a lack of depth. Defensive performance was ahead of the offense, but critical-moment execution still needed improvement. - Omari Hayes should continue receiving Iowa State punt-return opportunities after tracking and catching the ball more cleanly. Aiden Flora had cramps and an ankle tweak, but Rogers said running was not limited in practice; the concern was gauging and bending for punts. This was a return-role adjustment, not confirmation that Flora could not play offense.

- DB: Coffey and Johnson being only sophomores makes me very excited for the future of our CB room

- Pick/market: After scoring on our first drive of the half, our starting field position until our ill fated “false start” drive was pretty bad, likely contributing to our poor offensive performance.

- QB/OL: If the receivers, TEs, and either QB stays, we whip them.
