Four questions KU answered against Arizona State
- Against Arizona State in London, Kansas replaced Austin Alexander with Syeed Gibbs after early completions against Alexander. The review credits Gibbs with a deep pass breakup and says Roman Pearson also rotated for Gibbs. This was an observed in-game secondary adjustment, not a confirmed permanent depth-chart change.
- Kansas quarterback Isaiah Marshall said he asked coaches at halftime to use passing concepts already planned for the Arizona State game. The review reports an up-tempo second-half response while trailing by 17, with 195 of KU's 235 passing yards coming after halftime. This describes use of existing concepts, not a newly installed offense.
- The Kansas review says inside runs were frequently stopped against Arizona State, while outside zone found success, especially on the second drive. It also identifies disrupted snap timing between Isaiah Marshall and Kasen Carpenter and back-foot throws as execution problems. These are the writer's game-specific observations, not announced personnel changes.
