- Tennessee's quarterback competition remains unresolved, and the team's ceiling depends heavily on one of the young options becoming a high-level SEC starter. - At safety, returning starter Edris Farooq is being pushed by Penn State transfer De'Shawn Lane, while Omarion Campbell adds another resource to a group that avoided many spring busts. - Tennessee retained a two-year linebacker starter after a brief portal possibility, and Edwin Spillman gives the group another experienced returning piece. - West Virginia transfer Donavan Haslem adds starting experience to the offensive line, but the unit must show it can hold up against the best defensive fronts on the schedule.

- QB: Butch gave us our worst season in history, our worst home loss in our history, and our worst QB in our history.

- QB/OL: Regardless of the QB, the OL must improve in pass protection & physicality in short yardage situations.

- QB/LB: Probably going to see that regardless of QB at least the start of the season

- Pick/market: I feel good about the upcoming season, but I'm a glass half full person.

- Tennessee sharing a 65-1 range with Auburn was treated as potentially insulting to Tennessee, with the missing piece being a more convincing portal quarterback addition; Florida at 60-1 was floated as a high-variance unranked-to-title type if everything hits.

- QB/LB: I know for a 100% certainty that Kiffin's starting QB has never demanded more money and left the program at the end of Spring Camp like Nico.

- QB: This is the kind of thing that gets a kid on the roster to be the backup Holder; not the starting QB.

- Pick/market: We aren’t going better than 7-5 with a freshman QB and the schedule, but I still think the WR group is exciting

- QB/RB: Gotta have a QB that likes the way the RB goes You compliment that all day long

- QB: I like how slippery Mac is but the turnover point made is concerning.

- Don't compare incoming freshman Faizon Brandon to national championship QB Tee Martin; unfair comparison.

- Ryan showed elite accuracy in spring practice; still uncertain at QB starter heading into week one.

- Tennessee QB good but not elite; needs phenomenal QB since defense insufficient since Tee Martin/Casey Clausen era.

- Season confidence 5.5/10 due to unproven QB and shaky defense; cautious after years of TN disappointment.

- Average QB play survivable with stacked roster; above-average QB elevates teams with holes.

- Top 5-7 SEC QB production, solid WR/OL, sneaky good defense could yield 10 wins or 5.

- Tennessee QB room: Cam Ward, Trubisky, Allen, Levis, Hooker (5th on roster).

- Staff accountable for freshman QB situation; not accident—assign responsibility to decision-makers, not Huepel's job security.

- Josh Pate: Vols D ahead of schedule with Knowles integrating PSU players; strong WR depth helps whoever starts at QB.

- UT needs breakout true freshman QB performance like other programs achieving this season.

- QB: Nico very likely wins the starting job as a true freshman if he was competing against another freshman.

- QB: The failure to land a quality QB has the potential to be a program and regime killing mistake, IMHO.I'm writing off GMac.

- Heupel stabilizing program after own success; UGA/OSU/Bama had established rosters. - Can't demand championship with freshman QB after criticizing Joey's return.

- QB/LB: Also, too many fans don't care how you get the players, some are for a level field but the loudest fans want to win even as you said, stab your momma and don't blink.
