Notebook from Day 13 of Fall Camp for Wake Forest Football
- Center Will Way was the offense's most vocal player in Wake Forest's final practice before the second scrimmage and appears to have established a strong working relationship with quarterback Gio Lopez.
- Lopez remains positioned to start Sept. 3 and showed improving command with a 40-yard option touchdown and the day's sharpest team-period throw to Carlos Hernandez between two defenders.
- Backup Steele Pizzella was frequently off target but operated the two-minute offense with improved confidence and repeatedly used Deuce Lawrence, whose speed could earn him a screen-game role.
- Rice transfer Drayden Dickmann was the practice's most explosive receiver and ran the sharpest routes, drawing multiple productive targets from both quarterbacks.
- Edge defenders Cam Hardy and Tyler Walton consistently forced throwaways and checkdowns, while interior linemen Kadear Dembele and Tank Pratt showed improved lateral movement since spring.
