Week 3 Pac Discussion
- QB/OL: The only thing I’m optimistic about going forward for the next game is that maybe the half time OL shuffle sticks and proves to be the answer.

Pinnick is NOT THE GUY
- QB: Anybody else notice that pinnick got shoved out and not a single guy tried on our sideline tried to stop his momentum.

WSU offense remains stuck in mud with sloppy 14-7 lead over Duquesne at halftime
- In the supplied halftime report, Washington State led Duquesne 14-7 after an opening snap over Caden Pinnick's head and an interception on the next play. Two touchdowns on another drive were erased by penalties, and Jack Stevens pushed a field goal wide right, described as his fourth miss of the 2026 season. These are first-half events, not final-game totals.
- The halftime writer criticized Washington State's late-half offensive approach: with 1:37 remaining it ran three times, then sought more points after getting a first down. The writer saw indecision and limited confidence in the offense; this was an interpretation of that sequence, not an announced change in play-calling.
- At halftime, Washington State had allowed 5.9 yards per rush, including the 54-yard run setting up Duquesne's touchdown. The writer faulted tackling, edge discipline and light boxes. WSU had two tackles for loss, a Brown-Wedel split and a Matyus McLain solo, and the report said it had yet to record a sack in 2026 at that point.
- Washington State's first-half backfield production included Maxwell Woods' five carries for 63 yards, with a 45-yard Wildcat run, plus three catches for 20 yards. Kirby Vorhees had six carries for 48 yards at the break. Those are the halftime workload and formation details, not the players' final statistics or a new backfield ranking.

41 Unanswered Points Lift Cougars in 48-7 Win Over Duquesne
- Washington State's passing game produced 196 yards and two touchdowns on Caden Pinnick's 17-of-22 day in a 48-7 win over Duquesne; he also ran 12 times for 76 yards and a touchdown. His third-quarter TD passes went to Jack Pedersen and Branden Ganashamoorthy, who finished with four catches for 67 yards.
- Washington State's rushing offense got 109 yards and two touchdowns on nine Kirby Vorhees carries, including a 58-yard score, and 116 yards on 11 Maxwell Woods carries. Woods also caught three passes for 20 yards. The offense scored touchdowns on all three third-quarter possessions.
- Washington State's defense allowed a 54-yard run that set up Duquesne's first-quarter touchdown, then shut out Duquesne for the rest of the game. Duquesne went 0-for-3 on second-quarter third downs and punted on all four fourth-quarter possessions as the Cougars scored 41 unanswered points.
- Washington State used two punt returners to produce fourth-quarter touchdowns: Jaylen Thomas scored on a 47-yard return and Tank Hawkins on a 65-yard return. Those returns supplied all of Washington State's fourth-quarter scoring; the report does not announce a change in their return roles.
