Everything Luke Fickell said to begin season opening press conference
- Wisconsin offensive linemen Kevin Heywood and Emerson Mandell took Monday reps but remain game-time decisions against Notre Dame as the staff weighs Week 1 urgency against their longer-term health.
- Colton Joseph is taking Wisconsin's first-team quarterback reps while the two backup candidates remain even, with Luke Fickell prioritizing Joseph's ball security and decision-making in a balanced offense.
- Wisconsin expects Notre Dame to use substantial man coverage behind an aggressive, deep front and plans to make elite corner Leonard Moore defend run edges rather than simply avoiding his side.
- Wisconsin views CJ Carr's timing, deep ball and mistake recovery as central to Notre Dame's offensive balance and expects Mike Denbrock to retain a meaningful run component around him.
- True freshmen Donovan Dunmore and Jack Sievers are expected to have Week 1 special-teams roles for Wisconsin at Lambeau Field.
