Spencer out, Red Wolves add pair of RBs
- Arkansas State RB Devin Spencer injured his knee in a non-contact drill before the scrimmage and is expected to remain out until a possible bowl game, if he can return at all this season.
- The Red Wolves added fifth-year RB Timothy Cater from Incarnate Word to help replace Spencer; he ran for 347 yards and four touchdowns last season and has averaged 5.5 yards per carry across his career.
- Arkansas State also added junior-college RB James Lee from Tyler after he produced 430 rushing yards and four touchdowns as a freshman last season.
