Jones reflects on second scrimmage
- Arkansas State's second and final preseason scrimmage gave both sides productive stretches, but Butch Jones said the team still has cleanup work before shifting to Memphis preparation.
- The full officiating crew exposed costly penalties in critical situations, making situational discipline and avoiding self-inflicted mistakes a priority for the final two weeks.
- Coaches deliberately created crowd-noise and game-mechanics stress because many players have not played together, using the scrimmage to test communication and responses to chaotic situations.
