- Pick/market: If we give up another safety…

- QB: Put Martin in the game in the fourth quarter and he's looking at a different defense (non starters) than Mandal played against.

- LB/DB: The young man quickly became a favorite player for me, his physical style of play last season was inspiring.

- Injury: Joe Montana would have looked scared and nervous against that pass rush.

- DB: Fresno State did so much well here, especially CB Kiontre Harris in coverage on his first collegiate drive.

- Coaching: Entz was defensive last year when reporters began asking tough questions about the quarterback play and offense.

- Injury: Fresno State starting safety Ryan Wilson is expected out for the year with an injury suffered at USC, head coach Matt Entz said Monday.

- DB: USC seemed focused on him, even sometimes seeming to spy safety on him, other guys gotta step up and make plays to counter that, so he gets a little more freedom again.

- DB: There's not enough INTERESTED $$$ in the valley to make the year over year donations in order for the Dogs to compete on a P4 level.

- QB/OL: Every time we tried something that worked, we immediately reverted back to something that didn’t.

- Fresno State produced only 116 yards in a 39-0 loss at USC, and quarterback Jayden Mandal went 7-of-15 for 77 yards with an interception while taking five sacks. - Matt Entz said Mandal sometimes dropped his eyes to the rush and stopped trusting the protection, although the quarterback also made useful checks and several good throws. - Entz is willing to shrink the offensive playbook to improve Mandal's comfort, signaling a potentially more conservative approach when Fresno State hosts Sacramento State next. - Fresno State's defense struggled with eye discipline and communication against USC's RPO passing game, and the staff was reluctant to rely on either zone coverage or isolated matchups against the Trojans' receivers.

- Pick/market: Fresno State defense comes out looking very impressive, but USC quarterback Jayden Maiava and his WRs come up bigger on third, then a fourth down, then a final third-and-goal for an 8-yard TD pass.

- Injury: Fresno State starting safety Ryan Wilson is down with what appears to be a serious leg injury.

- Pick/market: The Fresno State defense forces a fumble to keep USC out of the end zone.
