Everything Mizzou head coach Eli Drinkwitz said on Tuesday
- Drinkwitz described Kansas quarterback Isaiah Marshall as an accurate downfield passer and dangerous runner, requiring Missouri to maintain pass-rush lanes while also defending his throws rather than simply concede the passing game.
- Drinkwitz said Kansas coordinator Kotelnicki builds complementary passes, quarterback runs and trick plays from repeated shifts and motions, including unbalanced formations that complicate defensive recognition.

Lance Leipold on Kotelnicki's return, injury update and players getting opportunity
- Andy Kotelnicki's return as Kansas offensive coordinator opened with more than 600 yards in a 51-6 win over LIU, which Lance Leipold called a positive first step for an offense still early in its re-install.
- Leipold said Kotelnicki had to start over with a roster mostly new to him, using spring, summer, and fall camp to evaluate personnel and find multiple ways to use the talent.
- Kansas linebacker Bam Crouch left the LIU game with a shoulder issue, returned with his arm in a sling, and was expected to undergo further testing.
- Leipold said Crouch was the only injury concern after the opener, which is important because Crouch had been playing well through fall camp after an injury at Boston College last season.
- Kansas played 86 players against LIU, giving depth pieces and younger players live work in a game where the starters were able to support the reserves from the sideline.

Kansas Pro Football Focus grades, snap counts from Week 1
- Kansas quarterback Jaylen Marshall graded well overall and completed three of four passes thrown at least 20 yards, but PFF gave him a 35 passing grade under pressure after a near-interception.
- Marshall directed nearly all of his passes to the middle or left side of the field, a Week 1 tendency worth monitoring against stronger coverage units.
- Yasin Willis handled 11 carries in 26 snaps but was marked down in pass protection, while Dylan Edwards earned his best grade as a receiver.
- Kasen Carpenter led Kansas' offensive-line grades, and DeAndre Harper played 42 snaps to Nick Morrow's 33 while grading second among the unit.
- Kansas kept every defensive starter at 28 snaps or fewer, while David Santiago posted two pressures and four stops and Blake Herold led the front with four pressures.
