- Missouri reinstalled field-goal protection and changed some personnel after two blocked kicks through the same area. Eli Drinkwitz also cited four special-teams penalties, including two personal fouls. Those are concrete corrections to a recurring protection problem; improved results have not yet been demonstrated.
- Missouri's outside-zone timing remains inconsistent between guards, double-teams and runner cuts; duo worked better. Ahmad Hardy is still rehabbing with no new update. Drinkwitz wants another back involved alongside Jamal Roberts and Xai'Shaun Edwards, mentioning Anthony Favrow or Preston Hatfield as possibilities rather than announcing a settled rotation.
- Missouri allowed seam throws and quarterback escapes opposite pressure, and had not forced a red-zone third down. Drinkwitz singled out Florence's tackling and Laulea losing his man on a scramble. - After Missouri's 38-21 Border War win, Drinkwitz said captain Green played following a minor procedure about 10 days earlier. Green had returned to full practice and pushed for extra reps despite staff managing his workload; this is a postgame return-to-play update, not a new projected return date.
- Drinkwitz praised Austin Simmons' 292 passing yards, third-down accuracy and reads against changing coverages. Missouri moved Cayden Lee between outside and slot alignments to create matchups, while the staff's mesh concept produced a touchdown to Donovan; the coach said he consistently trusted the passing game to move the ball.
- Missouri held Kansas to 81 rushing yards and 13-of-30 passing with two interceptions. Drinkwitz credited the linebackers, especially Robert Woodyard's tackling and takeaway production; back-to-back defensive takeaways after halftime helped Missouri build its decisive scoring run.
