- Pick/market: My Prediction 60,000 fans at kickoff.

- Pick/market: Hard to guess on this one.

- Texas Tech was described as having a massive talent advantage over Abilene Christian compared with the near-upset in the 2024 meeting. - The preview said Texas Tech's cornerbacks Brice Pollock and Amier Boyd should be able to handle Abilene Christian's limited passing game. - Texas Tech defensive end depth was framed as a matchup edge because Abilene Christian left tackle Cameron Vann was not expected to block the Red Raiders' edge rushers without help. - The preview said Abilene Christian's defensive front has enough activity to test whether Texas Tech's offensive line has improved. - Texas Tech was expected to key on running back Alex Broome with linebackers Ben Roberts, John Curry, and Austin Romaine.

- Pick/market: Ahh that makes sense.

- QB: In the 3rd quarter, the OSU QB missed an easy TD by overthrowing a wide open receiver over the middle.

- QB: Never understood the love for the Okie state team and especially the QB.

- QB: “It has been our intention since this past December to carry six quarterbacks on our roster this season,” Joey McGuire said.

- QB: If any game was the trap it was osu in stoolwater with their elite qb.

- QB/LB: if CC’s comments didn’t add much, then my vote is that he keep them to himself.

- Texas Tech added Tommy Castellanos to compete for the backup quarterback role behind established starter Will Hammond. - Joey McGuire said Castellanos gives Texas Tech an experienced emergency option whose athleticism can expand the offense if he is needed. - Castellanos arrives after starting all 12 games for Florida State in 2025 and producing 2,760 passing yards, 15 passing touchdowns, 557 rushing yards and nine rushing scores.

- Intel: Well, there is confusion with how eligibility is listed (like everything else with CFB now) because of the "new" 5-for-5 rule.

- Intel: Hunter Zambrano and Jeff Carpenter have a 7-Sr by their name.

- LB: “We stand by the idea that Jacob had repeatedly told coaching staff that he was tired of being cheap-shotted,” DuBose said.

- Texas Tech's defensive front projects as the roster's clearest strength: Mateen Ibirogba is viewed as an elite interior pass rusher, A.J. Holmes enters as a preseason All-American/Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year candidate, and the tackle rotation is three deep with proven college production. - Edge depth is unusually strong with Trey White, Adam Trick and experienced reserves. White was banged up in camp; the source says the issue is not serious, but he could miss the opener or some early time. - Austin Romaine reportedly had one of the best camps on the roster and is expected to soften the loss of a generational linebacker, with Ben Roberts and John Curry anchoring experienced, deep linebacker groups. - The secondary also has high-end pieces: Brice Pollock is framed as one of the nation's best corners, Davin Martin emerged in spring, and center-field safety Peyton Morgan is a candidate to lead the team in interceptions.

- OL: I have tried to capture the feeling and look of the entire football facility but always felt like I didn't do it justice.

- Intel: Camera crews and filmmakers have been following the Texas Tech football team since January.

- Intel: He just picked us to win the Big12 and beat the agholes in the CFP

- Intel: I was preparing to leap head-first off a bridge (if I coulda found one high enough in Andrews County) if Tech had lost to ACU in 2024.

- LB: This is football and sometimes you have got to expect dirty business from the opponent.

- Intel: Need to play this clip with audio right before kickoff lol

- DL: Joey McGuire indicates that Trey White is "week to week" with a knee problem.
