- Houston held Oregon State to 26 net rushing yards on 25 attempts, a total including four sacks for 39 lost yards; the Beavers' top two backs still averaged only a little over three yards per carry. The preview highlights Houston's run defense as a challenge for Texas Tech while noting Oregon State had more success through the air. Net rushing totals are not pure running-back efficiency. - The writer sees J'Koby Williams as Texas Tech's only productive back through two games and argues for him to receive most touches if Cameron Dickey and Quentin Joyner do not improve. Joyner scored a touchdown but also drew an unsportsmanlike-conduct penalty against Oregon State. - QB: Okie State proves that you need a great QB to win big games.

- QB: Beating a Top 5 team offsets a loss to a lesser team in my estimation.

- QB: If the O isn't moving the chains regularly, then put in qb #2, #3, etc.

- QB: remove from the playbook any formation with a QB split out wide (much less two QBs!).

- Pick/market: I don't see anything recently, nor historically, from these coaches, that they will be able to coach away our problems with QB, OL and running game.

- Pick/market: We won't get caught by a trailing DE if we don't run plays that are too slow to develop when the D knows the QB running is close to 0%.

- QB/TE: The play where Castellenos rolled out and hit TE for a TD was brilliant call by Leftwich.

- QB/WR: QB and WR are bad matchup for a team struggling in the secondary and getting pressure on the QB.

- QB: Hammond - is more interested in making a completion than a 1st down.

- Pick/market: Until we have an OC that is promoting his QB to let it fly, and the ability to check into a pass play, it will appear excruciatingly contrived.

- QB: Saw him in coverage once and saw him pressure the qb 3 times.

- Cover 3 says Thomas Castellanos' package of offensive plays at Texas Tech is expanding beyond the gadget-player role the hosts initially expected. The discussion identifies a growing role but provides no snap count or confirmed change to the starting lineup. - The hosts speculate that Castellanos could challenge for Texas Tech's starting quarterback job. Treat that as an analyst's depth-chart watch, not a coach-announced quarterback switch or a verified plan for Brendan Sorsby's availability.

- OL: I have always thought that Hamby was the scapegoat when for fired and that OL coach McGuire wasn’t an upgrade.

- Pick/market: 20-17 Tech Our offense remains bad but our defense steps it up a notch and gets the stop they need at the end (interception by John Curry to seal the deal).

- OL/LB: Hammond has to trust receivers to make plays OLine have to play fast trusting others to execute.

- TE/LB: Joey McGuire says S Brenden Jordan will return this week.

- OL: If I close my eyes and pretend then maybe their top 10 I know what my eyes are seeing and it ain’t it.

- OL: Ok, we have some serious problems with offense.

- OL: Why oh why is our offensive line such shite
