- Illinois added Lincoln Williams late, but the available role sounds more like QB depth than an immediate path to the starting job. - The staff liked Donovan Larry, but Williams is framed as having a different level of arm strength after Larry transferred out. - Williams is described as having the mechanics and physical tools to eventually compete for a job, while facing an uphill climb to win a starting spot right away. - His near-term value is emergency depth or a developmental option who could work into some kind of role after arriving in summer/fall.

The appeal is Big Ten experience, ECU RPO background, size, and a better outside-numbers/deep-ball profile than Luke Altmyer.
