Josh Heupel previews Tennessee opener against Furman on ‘The Mike Keith Show’
- Josh Heupel said Furman's new defensive coordinator showed more multiple fronts in Week 1 and he expects additional wrinkles and pressure looks against first-time Tennessee starter Faizon Brandon.
- Heupel said Tennessee has an idea for its running back rotation and anticipates all of its backs seeing time and carrying the football against Furman.
- Heupel said the third wide receiver spot beside Braylon Staley and Mike Matthews remained competitive among Radarious Jackson, Travis Smith Jr., and TK Keys, with all expected to play Saturday.
- Heupel expects Tennessee to rotate young defensive linemen and secondary players in the opener and noted close to 50 players could make their first run through the T.
- Heupel said extreme heat could sometimes lead Tennessee to rotate earlier or more frequently, though he said the Vols would not game-plan around this opener's heat.
