- OL: You are being generous, they can probably get pressure with 3 or 4 guys unless the o-line just had an epically bad performance 3 deviations from their normal play.

- Injury: My theory is a few bullet points: -OFFENSIVE LINE FOR YEARS HAS BEEN TERRIBLE.

- Pick/market: If the defense plays like this and the offensive line can give us at least an average effort then UCF can be competitive in every game .

- Coaching: I don't think the QB could have done anything faster except run for his life!

- OL: I was hoping for the best, figuring that Shawn Clark's passing (the emotional toll that must've taken on them, plus the revolving door of coaches) could explain the sub-par play of last season.

- Injury: Of course.....why would it be any different....QB cursed UCF...and throw in the offensive line curse too!

- UCF coach Scott Frost said Alondzo Barnett has a fairly significant hamstring injury and will miss time after getting hurt at Pitt. Further imaging was still pending, so no firm return date or injury grade was given. Frost had not announced a replacement starter or a two-quarterback rotation and declined to confirm Keywone Jenkins as the starter. - Frost does not expect to shrink UCF's playbook simply because the quarterback changes; he wants to tailor calls to whoever plays. He believes the remaining quarterback depth can operate the offense, but that is a coaching expectation, not evidence the replacement will immediately match Barnett's production. - UCF failed to sustain runs or capitalize on available explosive plays at Pitt and ran only 57 offensive snaps, many backed up or in two-minute situations. Frost wants better blocking and cleaner, faster routes. His criticism of tempo concerned execution speed within plays, explicitly not the time between snaps. - Frost expects Jaden Bellamy and Cooper Terpstra to be ready Saturday and expects the players identified as Bruno, RJ and Speedy to return. These are expectations, not confirmed clearances. Minor offensive-line injuries affected the prior rotation; the staff is still evaluating the best combination and expects those linemen to be available. - Frost credited UCF's experienced defense and Alex Grinch's staff with repeatedly giving the offense chances, allowing roughly 70-some second-half yards at Pitt. He also cautioned that heavy rain hurt Pitt's passing game. The strong defensive showing is useful evidence, but he did not treat that rain-affected half as proof the defense has arrived.
