- Rutgers' official Howard recap records 534 total yards, with 268 passing and 266 rushing, and no sacks allowed in the 58-7 win. Dylan Lonergan finished 12-for-17 for 214 yards and two touchdowns; Antwan Raymond ran for 140 yards and three scores. - LB: The one thing to keep in mind is that while NIL improved this offseason, there were years of neglect from the athletic department.

- Rutgers linebacker Abram Wright started against USC after missing the first two games of 2026 and recorded four tackles, but he did not play every defensive snap. The writer wants the Howard game used to build toward a fuller workload; this is not a staff announcement that he will take every snap against Howard. - The Rutgers report identifies true freshman Devonte Anderson as the current No. 3 cornerback and describes him as a boundary fit. The writer sees a chance for him to reach the top two by season's end if he develops through game reps; that is a projection, not an announced promotion for the Howard game. - Rutgers' Chris Vigna started at left guard against UMass, then spent time at both tackle spots over the next two games. He did not start against USC but still played, and the report leaves his eventual position unsettled. - OL/LB: According to the Rutgers official site Abram Wright (#6) started over Sean Allison (#41) at linebacker and Everett Small (#54) over Chris Vigna (#67) at left guard.

- QB/LB: it's not like we haven't run that exact play already so of course any defender that studied the film will be there.

- WR/LB: One of my biggest pet peeves is when people throw around the "its not even close" clause to pad their argument.

- Injury: Athan one play away from being a starting QB in the NFL.

- QB/LB: Brian Kelly would be chewing out the qb rightfully so - schiano will put him back out there to throw another interception

- QB/OL: Agree with all the comments, exciting game, and two really bad passes by Lonergan killed momentum, taking away chances to score points, when driving the ball down the field.
